Raising a baby duck with an adult duck?

Last year I bought 5 chickens and 2 ducks. About eight months later one of my ducks died (story about that in another post). I'd like to get another duck, but not 2 more. I know about imprinting, and about raising 2 ducks together. My question is, what is the best way to raise a single duckling without it imprinting on me :) Can it even be done? Can I somehow have it together with the 1 year old duck? I considered putting the new duck in a dog crate inside the run once it gets warm enough, so they are together but separated by the gate.

My remaining duck has done great with the chickens, no depression or anything I can tell that she's alone with them, but I would still like for her to have a companion.

Any ideas/thoughts welcome.

Also, I have looked all over for a single adult female duck I can just buy, but I live in a small town and have never had any luck except for ducklings.

Thanks!
