Raising and caring for ducklings

Where are they being kept? 2" with month old ducklings should be fine as long as temps are nice an warm if they are outside. They need to be able to get in and out of their water source because they can get water logged and drown.

So, when my gals and guy are old enough, I am going to use a 6 x 12 dog kennel as their pen. It is made of chain link. I have read that raccoons (trash pandas) will reach through the chain link. What is the solution? Add slats that are a few feet tall? Electric wire? Second layer fencing?
