Raising and caring for ducklings

Pics
Today is day 28 of incubation and we are in lockdown now for 4 days how long can this mallard duck egg stay at this temp 98 and humidity of 71 without internal pip
Wait ONE day after the due date then make a tiny Safe Hole, When you do smell in the hole... I can see a full body but it does look like it may have quite.. There's NO signs of dipping and if he's that close to his due date, he's probably quite but to be on the safe side, because you dont want to open him up to find out OMG, HE"S STILL MOVE, wait one more day and give him a safe hole.. He looks like he may have quitted the day of lock down??

What day are they on??
day 28 i had a gut feeling something was wrong and I was right I tryed to assist it but I was too late I should have done it yesterday or this morning he was malpositioned his yoke was at the top and his head was ay the bottom his beak was in the middle of the egg :hit he's dead now iam so upset I worked so hard around the clock to save him and I was too late I knew today he was supposed to be here my kids when they come home tomorrow are going to be so upset and sad..... I now need to go and purchase a duckling somewhere?

Sorry to hear that but even if you helped yesterday you may not have been successful, you can't help them if they haven't absorbed the yolk, it's something they have to do on there own. You best bet in the future is to set them with the big end slightly higher then the little end so that they have a direction to aim for and that would help some... Keep them laying down but just have the larger end slightly higher.. then the smaller end.

Sorry to hear about your lost.. We all have been there..

Sad to hear of them not making it :(

I wanted give a little update on Nugget: Within the 4/5 days that I've had him, he's grown! Not too much but i can definitely tell when I hold him! He's going to be a little trouble maker when he gets older! Haha he absolutely LOVES being in water, and hates when I take him out. Its too cute! This lil' duckling has absolutely stolen my heart and turned it into mush!!! Hehe

They do have a way of waddling right on in don't they.

First time incubating anything here I could use all the help you can give me

I am at day 28 of incubation, I have 5 Rouen eggs. 2 eggs are piping and moving around how longs does it take them to crack the egg? The first egg hasn't piped or moved in about 6 hours and the second egg is just now piping and moving. how do I determine the other eggs are alive or dead?
