Raising babies?

I"m thinking of letting one or two of my hens raise a few babies in the spring. Should I separate them in the little pen so the babies will be safe? What else should I do? Thank'you!

Well that all depends on your other chickens and if they try to hurt the babies !! Mama hen will take care of them, teach them how to eat, and protect them as best she can (some people have had issues with other birds hurting chicks) I keep mine in the same pen my mama hen is a real meany when others try to mess with her babies !! If they all get along there is no reason to move them !! Just make sure when the babies start hatching you have chick starter and water near mama and the chicks. Another thing you can do if it makes you feel better is to block off a small portion of the coop while there hatching and maybe for a day after so noone bugs them or gets lost !! Good luck !!
