Hello friends, I've been away from chickens for a few years but now I'm back and happier for it. Moved off the land into town, re-branding myself as an urban farmer. The coop is built, their run is established and the girls are big enough to get outside. Raising chickens in the desert Southwest is an adventure, but the best thing is that our young girls get to explore the great outdoors very early. Looking forward to sharing our adventures with you all.

Hello there and welcome to BYC! :frow

I'm your neighbor in New Mexico! Love the Australorps, my all time favorite breed!

Make yourself at home here, hop up on the roost bar, we saved a spot for you. :)
This is my first time with Australorps, I used to think that EE's were the best, I did some extra Breed reading beforehand this time and decided that they might be a nice change. My first chickens were Javas and I absolutely loved them, but they are a bit more difficult to find for a small flock.

I think you are really going to enjoy your Aussies!
