So I'm raising two ducks and three chickens together, the ducks are really scared of people sadly and I know that'll likely never change since I didn't get them young enough, but now two of the chicks are acting like the ducksand hiding under the ducks like they're the mom, idk if that's how chicks usually act or if the ducks are encouraging their fear, one chick is quickly becoming my favorite because she loves me and is fearless so at least I have one but idk if separating the chicks and ducks will do any good or make it worse? Any insight would be appreciated!

They might possibly think the ducks are their moms, but I'm not sure how they might be influenced by the ducks. The tub they're in looks pretty big, so I'm sure putting up a cardboard barrier would be fine.

I think you could still tame the ducks if you handle them more often. They don't look too terribly old yet, they're still learning.

I separated them and the chicks pretty much instantly stopped freaking out, they still jump when i first put my hand in , no matter how slowly, but now they're eating out of my hand and even jumping on and sitting on my hands as far as the ducks go, they're in their own enclosure in another room now. Of course I'll be spending time every day with all of them , I just want the friendliest possible birds I can get lol I had one pekin duck before that i got when she was probably one day old and she bonded with me instantly and let me hold her and love on her, tried again with week old ducks and they always ran from me and thought I was going to eat them no matter how much time I spent with them so i guess i dont have a lot of faith in ducks anymore but my husband wanted them so I said I'd try
