Hi there, it’s early may and my chicks are two weeks old. Will they survive the summer?

You may want to check out the AZ thread here.

There's also this guide on hot weather raising of chickens. Basically they need shade and ventilation in their coop to keep them cool.

And another breakdown on ventilation.

I'm in New Mexico so not quite so hot, but I've been looking at the AZ thread for tips. I've seen some setups with misters and I might set that up too.

Hi, thanks! I’ll check that out

Hello @Almita72 , :welcome
I too live in the Yuma area. I can tell you I successfully raised 5 chickens through the blistering heat last summer and will have 15 to take care of this year. I also noticed that they prefer more room when it's hot, also, make sure that there is cross ventilation wherever you keep them, you don't want them to bake :D Lots of shade, lots or water, and lots of ice, I'm sure you'll do great!
