Raising different breeds together?

Hey peeps,
I’m new to raising quail and I LOVE it! I’m learning a lot...and yet I still feel like I have a million questions.
Today’s question...can I raise chukar with my quail? Assuming the answer is no, due to chukar being too aggressive, what CAN I successfully raise with quail?

I doubt you could raise them together. I keep some of my quails with my golden pheasants (one of the pheasants is a bit mean to the quails though). I have kept bobwhites, california and japanese quails together too. I also keep some of my quails in one of my aviaries (they've lived with parrots and finches).

There are general 'rules' to who you can keep together. For example, you can't keep japanese quails with pheasants, partridges or other quail species because they're all aggressive. However, every bird is different. Yes, some will be aggressive, but some won't.

Is there any species in particular (besides chukars) that you wanted to raise with them?

Good morning and thank you for the reply!
Honestly, between my 4 kids and myself, we are daily wondering what other birds we could/should try to incorporate into our aviary.
We’ve talked about chukar (because we saw chukar chicks for the very first time at our local Farm store and my oh my are they cute!) and guinea hens and bantam chickens. I think we are all open to suggestions, too!!
We only have one brooder, one coop for our fresh-out-of-brooder quail chicks and an aviary for adults.

I wouldn't recommend guineas or bantams with quails. There's quite a size difference, meaning the quails would probably get bullied. Also, they can carry diseases (that they're immune to) that could be harmful to quails. If you wanted to keep something else with them, it would probably have to be a similar size to the quails. Did you have any other ideas?

No, I guess I don’t have any other ideas. I suppose I could look into other breeds of quail? Do you have any suggestions?

I have kept my japanese quails with californias and bobwhites (Bobwhites only for a short time though), but not all californias and bobwhites would necessarily do well with japanese quails. There is a big risk in keeping them together. Also, they generally get more aggressive in breeding season.

I woudn't recommend keeping them with king quails, because of the size difference. The king quails will probably end up dead.

Do you have Brown quail and Stubble quail where you are? They're Australian natives, and they're roughly the size of japanese quails. I'm not sure how they'd go with them though.
