Even enlarging isn't helping me much. Is his vent clear? How old, again? If it's newly hatched, it absolutely could be umbilicus attached to a drying, unabsorbed yolk sac. If that's what it is, leave it alone or snip if it's dragging and getting in the way, so long as the cord is dry.
7 days old. I took the heat off them. Inspected and wiped butts as needed yesterday. This one is the only one with pasty butt. After I bathed his butt I observed him. Took a minute but he took a big poop. This mornings inspection went good. Couldnt tell his butt or vent from another. Put some probiotics in their water this morning. Hope it helps.
Surprised at how early these birds started flitting across the ground. Today they were practicing jumping. The blind one is coming along very well.
They all seem strong and active. Was afraid that the first 2 weeks after hatching would be the hard part but these guys are set.
