We're well accustomed to raising Jumbo Cornish Cross and decided to add Freedom Rangers this year. Some questions about them.
  • Do they have the manure load like Jumbo Cornish Cross?
  • After brooding, can they be free fed or does their feed need to be regulated like the Jumbo Cornish Cross?

I have raised both Cornish cross and freedom Rangers in previous years. I would say the poop load was very similar and I fed them the same as Cornish cross, as in 12 hours of available feed and then 12 hours off. We processed them at about 12 weeks old.

Here's a recent thread about Freedom Rangers, which I believe are similar: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/rainbow-ranger-project.1551508/
This person decided to go to twice a day feeding after a few weeks and had good results.
Thanks for sharing my thread! I’m updating it here in a bit.

Poop load was way more than what I was used to with my layers. I had 8 RR cockerels in a 4x8 tractor while I free ranged the hens. The tractor birds had to be moved everyday due to buildup. Great birds and great tasting. Highly recommend.
