Raising ostriches.

I have always looked at ostriches like horses, but in bird form, even though its harder to ride. But I can practice, and sure enough, one day I might ride ostriches better than horses. But can they adapt to the north american climate? And can they be kept in stables like horses? Even though I most likely not get a ostrich one day.

I know people raise them in the states. ... but that is about all I know.

Ostriches are raised all over the US, from arid Arizona, to cold new Jersey, to humid North Carolina.

They are very cold hardy and adapt well. As far as I have seen ostriches do not enjoy being confined, or is small spaces at all. I would highly recommend skipping the stable.
