Chicks are ok, not ranging but an hour here and there due to really low temps this week. I like them outside lol they weigh in at about a pound each.
Messy inside. But warm and alive.
Crook neck has splayed legs now

found her with one out to the side and the other trying. Ug. She's a trooper tho. I will get her situated shortly. The rabbits had a litter late last night, hubby broke down this morning, arranging help has kept us busy & panicked, downside of being a hermit lol
Just got confirmation of a Jan 3rd delivery of 50 broiler chicks! Doh. Gonna be busy! Hindsight tells me large batches in early fall may be better than through winter

but we shall see.
How are the chicks doing? How old are they now? how upsetting about the 8,sorry to hear that.
My set of 15 are shipping out next Wednesday. I suppose I'll get them on Friday? Still no brooder built for them. I'm trying to build from a nice pallet, but dang, those things are difficult to piece apart. Buying wood is so much easier! Also, I'm thinking of biting the money bullet and getting an Ecoglow. I'm so uncomfortable with leaving the heat lamp on during the day while we're gone at work.
