Are those meat bunnies? I'm almost ready to go down that route, but can't do it unless I can get some more shade and electrical outlets outside. In my current situation, the bunnies would roast in the summer.

Ideal just called, my broilers are on the way. They had a poor hatch of the regular whites, so I'm getting some red and black broilers. I'm not quite finished with my brooder--ran out of scrap wood! I need 8 corner joiner things, 4 hinges, and a couple of 1x4s for a door. Anyway, it means I haven't got my broody hen set up in the brooder, so I hope I can finish up and move the broody in the next 2 days. Eek. Dang job getting in the way with real work! If it doesn't happen in time, I can always put a couple of chicks in with the broody in the big coop, and the rest in the brooder with the new ecoglow.

How many broilers are you getting?

They are meat bunnies. NZ whites. We socialize them and searched out good lines tho so they can be pets or used in shows. For us personally meat tho.

Babies on the way yay! Post an ad on CL to barter for the scraps/pieces you need (maybe search the free section first) ?
