Raising Turkeys with other fowl

From what i gather there are a few concerns to take into consideration if you run your turkeys and chickens together... the main one is Blackhead. The risk of this sounds like it depends on your location and also maybe how long chickens have been raised on the specific plot. A second risk seems to also be the size difference - this is becoming a risk to me - like what if my Tom BBB decides to get a little frisky with my hens... i read on one thread here where hens have actually been crushed by a turkey - which is pretty easy to imagine at the rate of growth they have...

if the risks are something that you can mitigate or are willing to run with, then having a mixed bird flock can work. I'm giving it a try - so far so good. I did raise my Turkey poult with my chicken poults, so the majority of my birds have all been rainsed together from day 1.
