How far apart should the little help em' up the ramp boards be apart? I'm talking about the little boards that go across the ramp. Its time to build the ramp!!!! Yeah!!!! Thank you for any help! The chickens send their thanks also! The faster I can get the ramp done the sooner they can go in the run!!!

The spaces between mine are 3", I used 1x2 strips for the "steps". My 6 week old chicks can climb up and down them with ease.

I think I put mine about 5" apart. Here is a photo.........

One is missing because I hit my thumb while nailing it in and then "punished" it for not being nailed in correctly! There is another one there now and my thumb survived this time.

Not to spoil your fun or the aesthetics of your plans, but unless they have chicks following them around, hens don't really need a ramp. They will jump/ fly just fine to and from an elevated door. That being said, I do have a couple landscaping blocks thrown in front of our hen door for steps, but I doubt the birds care at all.
