Ran out of Layer Feed, is Chick Starter okay?

[sunny & the 5 egg layers]

I just ran out of layer pellets today. Would it be okay if I fed my flock chick starter (un-medicated) for today and get the layer pellets tomorrow?

My flock consists of:
6 hens- all 17 months old
1 hen and 1 rooster- both 5 months old.

i dont see it hurting them for only a day, especially un-medicated

No problem and I wouldn't rush out to buy the layer feed if you'd rather wait a few days...it certainly won't hurt them.

Just think of what free ranging chickens eat like mice, little birds if they can catch them, frogs and insects of all kinds...lots of protein there lol!

Thank you. I saw one of my girls poke her head through the fence to reach a huge beetle yesterday. She ate it all herself, and boy was she proud.
