I remember Ranchie as being fun and always upbeat. She could always lend a helpful hand when you needed it. RIP Ranchie!

After exchanging a few comments with Ranchie, on the forums. I received my first PM from her. It said something like:

I am a hirpling. Do you know what that is?

I googled "hirpling" and found out that it means someone who walks with a limp, or more obscurely means someone with cramps.

Of course I responded with

I'm sorry you have cramps.

Over the last year we had several fun PM conversations. She was very insightful, and extremely interested in people and the how & why people do what they do.

Legend has it that only Sally could make those dogs behave. She said that you spoiled em.

Really sad - You were a great person and always helped me out with friendship and advice when I needed it.

I can't believe that she is gone. I am honestly shocked right now. She was a great person to talk to. She always was wondering how I did in baseball games and was always very positive and always had a way to cheer me up if I didn't perform like I thought I should've. I will take a moment of silence to honor her.

She was a delightful member of BYC. It will not be the same. Sad, but she was so light hearted and humorous, I am sure she would want us to remember her making us snort out loud at something she wrote, and I believe she would be happy now ... knowing how many people she made to spew their drink on the monitor screen.
Rest in peace, Ranchie.

I just found this, via a FB post...Ranchie was always there to smack me upside the head when I needed it over here on BYC

It's funny how those we never actually meet can grow to mean so much to us. I haven't spoken with Ranchie in a while, but she was always the first one I'd PM if I needed advice on something important and if I said somethin stupid she was burning up my inbox

Quite simply, I had grown to care about her, and loved getting PM's telling me to shut up in a round about way. Ranchie was a great person, a beautiful, spunky, spirit that will be terribly missed. Some didn't know how to take her at times, but I enjoyed her bossiness, and tough love type guidance and advice. I am shocked, and had no idea she was ill....but I miss her already.
