Random bantam death?

I have been given 2 bantams and 2 hens off a friend since she can no longer look after them, after a week, one of the bantams just has a fit and dies, after i spoke to the owner, she told me this happened with another bantam they had not long ago.

What could have caused this?? and how can i prevent it from happening to my last one??

Do you have the new birds quarantined from your own flock, I hope? You don't know what you may be dealing with in terms of disease.

Yeah the new ones have been separated from my other girls, but i still have no idea what caused this death.
