random kindness

I baked homemade choc chip cookies and took a couple dozen across the road for the new neighbor. A young kid bought the farmstead across the road from us. Just wanted to congratulate him on his new home..and get to meet his dog. (i am a sucker for animals)

I helped a handicapped lady yesterday with a flat tire. I have a little emergency compressor in my car that plugs into the lighter and pumps up a tire in a few minutes. I also helped her with removing some heavy items from the car while we were waiting for her tire to inflate.

Shameles plug: If anyone is looking for a very easy way to do a kind act, please consider donating a few eggs to the Crazy Egg Auction for Aussie Fire Relief thread.

We did our nice deed for the old man across the road, then got it returned when a man came by the girls cookie booth bought four boxes of cookies and gave a box to each of the girls! It was very sweet.

Some one also dropped a cashiers check for $80 in the donation for the troops box! The note said it was "in gratitude for their sacrifices".

I grow out my hair for three years and give away to cancer patients. I make kitty and doggy blankets for the humane society. This year I will give eggs to the hungry. Don't know if it's really random. These little things do not cost me much and it's pretty easy to do. Makes me feel good to do something for someone else who is in need.

Does this count? There was a brush fire two lots down from us in our neighborhood. The wind was blowing in a direction that it would not come to our house, but my neighbors garage and house were at risk. They are in out of state right now, as their 20 yr old daughter passed away a few weeks ago. DH and I went over there and held off the fire from their property with garden hoses until the Volunteer Fire Dept got there. All I could think of was 'we can't let this happen to their house, they are going through so much heartache right now!' Every thing worked out, the fire was stopped approx 5 feet from their property line which is 20 feet from their garage. GOOD JOB DH!!!!
