Random Lavender Chick?

I would suspect that there was color hiding behind the hatchery stock black or white birds, those dominant colors tend to mask other colors. All sorts of colors pop up when you start cross breeding hatchery stock, it goes to show that they mixed a little bit of "this" and a little bit of "that" into their breeding pens at one point in time.

So, on a whim I emailed the breeder to see what she thought might have happened.
Her response, althought brief explains a lot. She said "Cochin".

So now I have a very handsome Blue Cochin Cockerel for sale or trade. He is 9 weeks old.
