I've wondered that about my Serama cockerel too. He's my favorite chicken (shh... don't tell the others ;) )
I was preparing myself mentally to have to rehome Picotee, but he is my hubby's favorite! Even though the little guy has a very pink comb and visible wattles, Hubby refers to him as "she" and "her."

Whenever I think I have a favorite, I fall in love with the others all over again!

Since my last post I discovered that 4 of my 8 chicks were roos. . So they went back to my niece's flock (where I got them originally) and now I have 2 pullets from their second batch they hatched. They are 3 weeks younger than the 4 I had. The integration process is slow. I would have kept them in their separate run inside my main run longer but I was worried about the horrible heat wave we have now. 95+ degrees with heat index over 100! I let them all out to free range on Friday and today is Sunday. It's been a week since the new ones arrived and there is no indication of the flock integrating yet. Patience has never been among my virtues so if anyone has any suggestions or words of wisdom/advice I would much appreciate it. Thanks!
