Random Ranting.... Why why why

You can call the federal marshal and report the local police. We had it done here and now the local police are under investigation. they would stop and ticket people for no reason. other than the town needed the income. The local State troopers also are under investigation for writting false tickets to truck drivers and operating a DOT without any one trained or certified to do it. I know Most of the time they are Great people. My wife worked for the locall police Dept for 12 years. Even the police would openly talk about whay THEY were doing wrong and laugh. They are mostly good cops. Don't get me wrong I'm glad they do most of what they do. I wouldn't do it. Not for what they get paid. But when the lawinforcement is lacking in skills training and not providing the public service they are employed to do, then Something needs to be done! Report them! It's unfortunate that a few lousy people bring down all the rest!
In texas as long as you are on your property and in fear for your life you have the right to protect yourself by any means even deadly force! I was told by a sherrif just to say "He said he had a gun and I thought i saw a gun, I was scared for my life!" and don't just shoot them once. That shows you were in control. Shooting until no more ammo left, (with out reloading) shows scared to death! I also was told that by a cop and an attorney, believe it or not.

Just remember : you have to live with the choices you make!
Good Luck and God Bless!

I'm sorry if I ever seemed to bash law enforcement. My daddy, Grandfather were both city cops and my uncle is a Georgia State Trooper. I was merely saying that in this case, from the info given, they were a little lax on the job. I personaly would have shot the guys (and I'm not second guessing the OP) and then called the law. I have had to defend myself ( saved my behind) and my property on several different occasions. I personaly don't feel its LE job to defend me or my property. But that's just me. I guess that's one of the drawbacks to living out in the country.

I have great respect for LE and the job they do. So I'm sorry if I offended you or any other LE officer/family.

PS: I have always loved your pic!!!!!

Then you have to know that we are only hearing one side of the story here. Frankly, I found the OP account to be a bit rambling, at best. The fact that there's been no update just enhances my suspicions that we weren't getting the whole story.

Well God Bless you Grit- the whole time I am reading this thread I am debating whether or not to get into it. Yes people, there are law enforcement families on this board, perhaps we should think before we post. I am heartbroken to hear this attitude here- they are doing the best they can, in an enviorment that is mostly negative, and they are human. If everyone that believes they know the job and could be better at it than the men and women that ACTUALLY do it would get the training and the badge, I am sure the world would be a better place. But until then, only a relatively few members of our society are willing to sacrifice thier families, thier children, their spouses and their very lives to live on the "Thin blue line". That is the only thing in the world that keeps our society in place.

Two points I would like to make:
1. OP said that she seized the horses from the original owner, who is now getting them back. I myself would like to see the court paperwork that says OP did not STEAL the horses orginally. You can't seize someone's livestock without legal justification and paperwork cause you don't like them.

2. Anyone stop to think that maybe the car wreck involved human life????? If there was a person in that car dying, it was way more important than a horse.

"The only thing neccesary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing".

This is the one I am referring to=- If indeed they were seized legally from the original owner, it is neccesary to have a court proceeding to determine the final ownership of the horses. This whole thread leads me to believe the court returned ownership to the original owners, and the OP doesn't like the decision. If indeed this is the case, bashing LEOs is wrong, becuase they can only enforce a court order, they cannot re-write it.

I've got lots of respect for LEO's, cuz its I job I won't and can't do. But my main point is similiar to JJ's in that the police are not here to protect us. They are a reactionary force 99% of the time. If the laws of the land were different and the LEO's were allowed to enforce the laws of common sense I would be a happy camper. As it is, there are LEO's, which includes federal agencies who abuse their power and privilege.

At times, their interpretation of the law is so far off... And it is those that I have a problem with. The law is the law. No interpretations. 3 armed men walking onto my property, trespassing, unannounced, with no warrant, no friendly call ahead, not immediately announcing who they were and why they were trespassing... Yeah, that federal agency is too big for it's britches. A knock on the door would have been nice... Just saying.

Putting tinfoil hat back on now.
