Range Extender

I purchased this Winch from the store.
This will act as my automatic chicken coop door opener.
It comes with a remote that has about a 20 foot range.
If I press the button the chicken coop door opens, and closes.

I want to be able to do this from my house. So I want to extend the range.

Here is the winch that I purchased along with the remote control that came with it.
Does anyone know how I can extend the range past the 20 feet that it currently goes?

If you knew the frequency it broadcasts on, some sort of passive repeater designed for that specific range might work. With the same amount of work you could just exchange the winch for an wired model. Or then you could look into those arduino controller doors and maybe control it from a phone or something.

So I found this video online and it shows you how to extend the remote of a car remote. I am going to assume that it is the same thing for this type of remote.

I was looking at the winch and not the remote it self.

So as per this video if you can sodder a wire to it, it will extend the range.
