Rant about chocolate

I drive past that factory DAILY!! There's an outlet store out front with "oopsies". Their mountain bars are yumolicious but I don't care for the roca.

Theres a Russell Stover outlet store near me....just far enough away that I have to really REALLY want (need??) to go. Sometimes the specials are just fair, but sometimes they are outrageous. Last time I went they had all their Valentine hearts....the BIG ones, as big as a large pizza, for $1 each! People were loading up their baskets. They were only about 6 months old, and they freeze great.

Hershey's will do (none of the flavored Kisses though...ewww) but after living in Europe I'm a snob when it comes to chocolate now. Belgium chocolate is the best and I will pay whatever price I have to in order to get it, lol

I want some Harry & David chocoloate covered cherries (they are dried cherries; not the gooey, drippy kind). YUM!!!

Aldi is German owned...they have some of the BEST chocolate around...plus the only place I have found spaetzle, stollen(at christmas), and lots of other goodies that my DH could only find when he was in Germany.

No wonder Jenns is chocolate frustrated. My truck would never make it past Brown & Haley's. I got sick on mountain bars as a kid:sick Seems like you had to buy Mountain bars by the ton back then! I did get a chocolate bar at the space needle as a kid that was from Europe and had cinnamon in it. Bought 3 bars and ate them within the day. Maybe English Chick knows where they came from. Merci' is good for variety chocolate flavors.

This is why I'm the coolest French teacher ever.

Every year at Christmas, we do a chocolate tasting. Most of my students tell me Hershey's is their favorite. Until.

I buy Lindt, Ghiradelli, Hershey's Palmers, Dove, and whatever else I can find. We break it into small chunks and taste and rate each one on aroma, taste, and mouthfeel.

Every year they rate Ghiradelli and Lindt near the top with the cheap american stuff at the bottom.

Chocolate is like cheeseburgers...even when they're crummy they're still kinda good.
