Well said. No quotas. And my son gives folks 19 miles over before he lights them up.
Buster - if your wife decides to fight the ticket - here's a clue:
Let her fight the ticket. The judge/Sheriff will consider you butting into the business of the court.
Use plain, impassionate speech to describe what you perceive to be the issue. It's a cliche - but it's all about FACTS. Facts are what matter in a court of law.
And one of those facts is that the cop is a sworn officer of the court.
There could have been a complaint and so enforcement was high and tight on that road that day.
Do most places have the "guilty with explanation" plea for a moving violation? I got my first ticket in 31 years of driving in '06. I had received a phone call from my sister - that our mother's labs had come back with a terminal dx and I had to get across 2 counties to be at the hospital when they told her. I was on the phone and shot at 46 in a 25. The deputy saw my record, saw me crying and knocked it to 41 in a 25. He told me he wouldn't be at court and to plea guilty with explanation - which I did and got a pbj and no points.
And, no - I didn't play the "cop's mom" card.
Good luck with it.
