I still sell on
Ebay because it still reaches the most people. I have had a few problems. I make sure I keep all communications with our customers just in case I need it in a dispute. I also sell on eggbid and have had problems and can't even get a response from the owners of eggbid.
I would put a response to their negative feedback. That is really all you can do at this point. Sorry, this happened. It's very upsetting, however in this world try to let it " roll off like water on a duck".
Selling hatching eggs is always a risk since there are a number of people that do not understand (no matter how many disclaimers you put in place) that when the postal service comes into the picture that all kinds of things can happen. Also many people think that they are going to get all the eggs to hatch. If the eggs don't start to develop then they think you sent them infertile eggs or old eggs. I find a lot more people with this type of mind set on
Ebay, mostly because they are new to purchasing shipped eggs and sometimes even hatching.
I personally have purchased eggs from two different BYC sellers and the packages have gone into no where land. The sellers did what they were suppose to do and the post office messed up. In one case the post office in Denver sent the seller an email after several days and said the package was leaking and smelly so they threw it away. In the other case the package arrived after 10 days, when the seller confronted her local post office the local clerk said they sat the package aside and forgot it was there for almost a week.
Point is whereever we sell or buy there are risks, rude and unreasonable people. On the other side most transactions go off without any problems and there are a lot of very nice people out there.
