Rant! Neighbor dogs killed ALL of my chickens!!!

So sorry about your lost pets. I can only imagine you were as close to them as I am to mine. I would be devastated. I have dogs and I introduced them to the chickens on day 1. Now they keep guard in our now fenced yard and warn me if any other animal is in the vicinity. But dogs running loose is a disaster waiting to happen. Good luck on the Fort Knox coop. Anything to protect our chickens! Our pets.

Try putting electric wire around the chicken pen like two or three strands high that helped me out one time. Just used what we had for the horses.

If you intend to take the owner to court to get your money, you need to get Animal Control involved. Take pictures of the devastation. Take pictures of the dogs if they come back. Shoot them AFTER the picture taking in case you miss them.
