Rant...Octuplets!!!

I do wonder about the fertility drug part of it... Perhaps she only wanted one more child and she got help but ended up with 8... Again, who knows? But wait, I know some would slam a woman for wanting another child when they already have 6 right?

Not for me, but then again when I was told I couldnt have a child without "help" ie fertility drugs. I was happy to not have any.
The "powers that be" will and all that.
I guess those powers meant for me to have the one we were given and we are happy with that.

Probably not. Just not ""exciting"" enough

Maybe she was married and divorced AFTER the procedure? Or a widow? Or maybe dad is in the service and that is why she is living with the grandparents?

I agree...but we are making an assumption on the "unwed" part. Hopefully more info will come out.

I have one child of my own, and three step sons, 4 boys total. I am well aware of how costly, draining and difficult it is to raise children in our modern society. I can't believe that anyone in this situation would possibly have the where-with-all to provide what each of these children needs to grow up and be a well rounded, healty, and normal adult. Sure, the mother will get all sorts of freebies for these children but what about the others? 14 children!!!! Are you kidding me? A parent gets spread thin enough with just 2 or 3 children. There is so much more to being a parent than just financial obligation which I seriously doubt these people can meet on either instance, $ or social and mental up bringing for this many children. I feel terribly sorry for the children and I too believe this had to be due to fertility drugs and poor judgement. It's just sad.

I feel you there! When I was in college and working and living on my own I went to try and get insurance and the city told me they couldn't help me unless I was pregnant. That's a good way to encourage young people!​
