rant rant rant!!! stupid hovabator temp!!!

true-I seem to forget that chickens do this thing all the time by themselves! I need broody hens!!! hahaha

well my bator has been running at 100.2 for 2 dAYS NOW...Ive tried to raise temps but they always seem to spike a little then go right back to 100.2 humidity 39%..I've been rotating my eggs once aday as suggested. I think I'm just going to give up messing with the temp and leave it at 100.2 and expect a little later hatch than normal. I just can't get that wafer to work with me!!!! we'll see.....

Anytime you add eggs, you need to watch until it is stable because the temp will change..

Even on the 2 that I have to turn my eggs by hand, after I do that I always let the temp stablize before I hit the bed..

Also when they start hatching... watch the temp and humidy .. Of course it shouldn't change that much..

well-I candeled last night! I have so many heartbeats! I had 56-more than I rememebred putting in-and I had around 40 live-6 questionable and 8 duds-totally clear-1 huge blood ring egg-this is so excitng--my hova is still at 100.2ish and humidty went down to 27% so I jusr added warm water-I dont like it that low-Idbe happier if it stayed at 35 or above-but now that I took everyones advice it seems to be going much better!!

not yet-I just got the bator not even 2 months ago! This is my last hatch ( I think) this year-except my chickens eggs for meat and eggs-so I will buy a new wafer for next years incubations-I say that now but I can totally see myself running that bator for months! bad bad bad!!!
