Rant USPS tracking updates when expecting chicks

I ordered some that shipped on Monday, were supposed to arrive Wednesday. They didn't show up till Thursday!!! 3 were dead and half near death. tried to save them, but they were too far gone. ended up with 7 out of 18 alive.......beyond frustrated!!

I've sold quite a bit of stuff (not chickens) online and find USPS is by far the worst when it comes to updating tracking. They seem to be on time with the shipments about the same as UPS and FedEx but their tracking is horrible. UPS and Fed Ex seems to update instantly. I have had stuff shipped with USPS and the package arrived two days later and the tracking never updated the entire time.

When I pre-ordered my chicks from my local feed store they told me that they would come FedEx because the post office in Idaho has cut some of their sorting centers they keep getting large amounts of chicks DOA. I think you will see more come FedEx or UPS. Still knocking on wood.

wow I bet UPS or Fed Ex would really be on top of the delivery! I didn't know they even accepted chick delivery.? Wow I bet they come very quickly!

Ugh anybody else getting peeved with the lack of updates from tracking info? I had chicks shipped out from ideal poultry in Texas which left weds. Called ideal got my tracking number. And sure enough birds left Texas weds which is also the last time my updates have changed. I'm hoping my birds are at my local post office in two hrs... But sure would be nice if I knew where they have been in the meantime.

Yes!! I’m going through that right now. Those not even info stating it’s live animals!! It’s saying priority mail is all and 4 days!! If that’s true I won’t have them by then, they won’t make it. This sucks!!
