I hate when people are stupid. I am so upset I'm crying.

I sold a huge huge American Girl set on ebay. I mean it was worth thousands of dollars. I had a lot of people look and a lot of bids. It was for a 14-16 year old girl. I played with it maybe 6 times. Lightly. Not a scratch on the doll or the clothes.
We also said no refunds or returns on it. We have 100% feedback.

One interested buyer kept asking us questions like "is the penny heavy" And other random things.

umm yeah. weird question.

Anyway she ended up bidding and winning it for $305 plus $25 shipping.

Okay. So we wait 7 days with no word or payment from her. Then she emails and asks if we can ship it cheaper cause she 'Felt like she paid to much on the lot'

FYI! If she felt like she paid too much she shouldn't have bid it up that high. She should of let the other person have it.

So sure, I go to the post office and ask how much 10 day shipping would be. They esimate $18. So I refund her $7.

She sends us a few more messages that state. "I paid too much. I shouldn't of bid that high."

She finally pays on the last day she can. And we ship that morning. When we go to ship it, it ends up costing us $32... So yeah. I just paid $14 dollars for her shipping. No big deal.

She gets it. And a month later. She emails me. "You lied. You said the doll wasn't played with hardly. Her limbs are loose and she can't stand on her own. She has been used a ton."

Um no. It's been over a year since she was touched. And before that only about 6 times by an older teen.

"We are sorry. But when we purchased her new she never did stand on her own. You never asked that question. And she is as we described. We would be willing to take her back and refund you."

We never got a reply.

Well a month later. Today. I get a message from ebay.

She filed a money claim against us. Saying we lied. Her only message is "The doll is very very used. She can not stand on her own.Other things are as said" Paypal took back $320. And she demands that I refund her $50. With her keeping the doll of course.

We never said she could stand. She never asked. We didn't think anything of it. We simply listed her as she was. Even in the pictures she is leaning against something.

She never replied back, and now we have a legal claim against us.

I am so very very upset. I'm crying. I never liek to upset anyone. But this is just crazy. The entire time she was nothing but trouble. And I knew we were goign to have problems.

I don't know what to do.

The fact that you offered a refund after she returned the item should've kept paypal from striking against you! Did you reply to all of paypal's requests for information? Give them a call and see if there's anything to be done. At the very least, she should be required to return the item!!

I agree.

The entire issue is because she got carried away and bid more than she wanted to pay. So now she is trying to figure out a way to get money back.

I'm scared that if she returns it what shape it will arrive in. She could of done pulled off the arms now. To prove they are 'loose'.

It's been months! I thought it was done and over with.

She never even replied back to me.

If this doesn't get resolved. I will be giving them a call and seeing what we can do.

It's makes me so hurt. I hate dumb people. It makes me want to crawl in a hole and live alone forever.

YES....You need to stay on top of paypal!! You need to appeal or whatever you can do with them!! If you still have access to view your sale page of your things print that out and fax or email it to them!! The buyer should have NEVER got a refund just because she "said" that you lied!! Thats horrible!! I would fight, fight , fight!!! Good Luck!!

Wait, am I understanding this correctly, that paypal refunded her $320 two months after her purchase?? Her total cost with shipping was only $323??! Tell her if she wants the $50, she needs to send the doll back in the same exact condition she recieved it in. Tell her she is responsible for all shipping costs to send the doll back.

Personally, since she purchased it 2 months ago, I don't see where she is entitled to anything back!

People! grr!

It's people like this that give ebay and paypal a bad name. What is her feedback like? What's yours like? Usually whenever I've had a problem with someone like this their feedback is less than desireable. I go along with what the previous post said in that you should fight , fight, fight. People like this have to realize that they shouldn't have bid on it in the first place if they didn't intend to pay the full price. I would file a claim against her as well and state in it everything you told us here.
I would insist that your money be returned to your account and then tell her she can have the $50 minus the s&h costs when she returns the doll in the same condition that it came to her in.
Good luck!

That is the main reason most of the really good sellers are off eBay!

I hope you still have those e-mails somewhere... They would help so much. You would have to attach them and all headers to paypal.

I hope you disputed the refund! Get on the phone. and if she still has the doll...

Mail Fraud! You can't keep the merchandise and the money!

this happened to us one time on an incubator that the womans son broke paypal refunded her money and put us with a negative balance in our paypal account. oh and they let her keep the so called broke incubator too. so we were out 140.00 plus no incubator
