Rare breed assortment straight run Meyer winter 2024/2025

I ordered this winter since a weasel took out my flock, my coop is weasel proof now and weasel free currently. I am going to brood else where. I hatched out some great chicks and wanted to add some colors to the chicks I have. I ordered rare breed straight run, to see what I get, also I wanted to check out the roosters. I checked out the weather, and it was 52 degrees in Cleaveland where they fly out of, so I knew the flight,/mail would not be delayed. They came 48 hrs after hatch. Only one so far is pithy so I have it separate. All got electrolytes and egg yolk water and chick feed. I put my smallest chick in the brood box from my other hatch to show them the ropes.

Oh my heart. I used to hatch. Ordered at times, but hatched a lot. I miss these Littles.

Hi Cynthia-waving-

I know I can only keep so many. I plan on keeping 8 from this batch. 3 have crests (cream leg bar, olive egger, and an opal legbar which ever that is. ) Then the little GB maran which I think are just cuckoo marans with gold on the neck. 2 splash and 2 blue maran or Ameruacana- (don't get after me about the spelling, it it too early yet. need more coffee.)
The man who gave me LO eggs that I hatched 2 months ago, he may want those hens, and he is going to give me more eggs that are LO so making room for those,plus I have some random hatch-ies. We have many people in our valley looking to replace hens from the bad winter. It is also fun to meet other chicken people this way. I am like the Johnny apple seed of chickens.

I love it.

I’ve sold several from my order as well - all but one of the black ones ended up being olive eggers, sold all of them, as well as all but two roosters.
I kept the SFH and Golden Cuckoo Marans cockerels, as well as the two SFHs, 1 BCM, 1 “sapphire gem” I believe, 3 splash Marans, a splash ameraucana, a salmon faverolles, and two cream legbars. Made back everything I’ve spent on them and I’m happy with the ones I kept!

In this context, what stands for SFH and BCM? I’m not at the chicken-breed-abbreviation-level yet.
