I also really like Golden Campines. They're really pretty birds. BLRWs are one of my favs as well.

Awww he is a cutie. Reminds me of a polish rooster I had to rehome.

I think campines are similar to groninger aren't they, or am I mixing them up with something else?

She is lovely! The reason I like this breed is for the black iridescent feathers.

I have a black dog called Luna, lol! Great name!

I was just reading up about Langshans and the different strains developed in the UK: Croad and Modern.

Apparently there is only one large flock of Modern Langshans left https://www.rbst.org.uk/modern-langshan

I agree. Something beautiful about a black and white animal.

I also love zebras, giant pandas and appaloosa horses (have I spelled that right?) and my paint silkie (and his black and white babies).

I prefer the hamburgs over the appenzellers, purely because I've done crests already (polish and silkies). They've got such a lovely body conformation too

Yep. Black and white animals are gorgeous. You spelled Appaloosa right. Most Appys aren't black and white. Nevertheless they're stunning animals though. I think the Hamburgs look really cool. I haven't had any crested birds yet, but I definitely will some day. BBS Orpingtons are another one of my favorites too.

I don’t know if Sumatra are considered rare.

One time I saw a pair for sale at my local feed store a long time ago. It WAS tempting to get my parent to buy them for me. But they thought having another rooster would be too much for a suburb home.

But I love their plumage. All black looking with green sheen to them when good light hit their feathers. And the long tails of the males. So elegant!

I watched a YouTube video the other day with my son and the Appaloosa horses looked like dalmatian dogs. I thought they were all black and white! What colours are they usually?

Yes they are on the rare breed list. I agree they are beautiful. Another iridescent black chicken

Maybe for their non feathered feet they would win over the Langshans?
