Both are cockerels, so 7 hatching out doesn't sound to bad to me! I do hope you can get your Maran's though.

I talked to him. Unfortunately he is done selling eggs for the year, he doesn't think fertility is high enough(molt, cold, etc) to sell the eggs, especially shipped eggs. On a positive note he was shocked that I got 7 to hatch. He only got 2 to hatch and thinks they are both pullets. He needs a young roo and offered him my extra (if there is one). I also volunteered my bator skills for the spring, told him I'd hatch them for him so he can get some "fresh" kids in there, as well as his other pens. He only has 1 old roo in with 12 hens so that is one reason he was surprised I did so well. I told him his roo is definitely doing his job as only 1 didn't develop veins. So I am sorry I can't help anyone out with eggs till spring
