Raspberry seed eating

My chicken love tilling under my raspberry rows. I'm worried they spend so much time there because they are eating the raspberry seeds I'll need for next years growth. Can anyone tell me if this is what they're eating or why they enjoy moving the soil away from the roots? It seems an alright coexistence if they don't kill my raspberry crops.

No need to worry about the raspberries, any seeds they eat will be weeds, not your berries. Raspberries grow up from the roots and the chickens aren't able to damage the roots by their scratching and pecking.

Chickens scratch. It's what they do. They get to find all manner of delicious things to eat.
