I catch wild snakes, yesterday I caught a 4.5 foot long indigo. My normal day.

He's lovely as well.

@Fairyloop5, when I lived in Florida, I loved catching snakes too. The rat snakes there were so calm and docile, even though they were wild. Although, I'd be a bit upset if a snake ate my eggs. While I love them, I also love my food!

I love snakes as my second favorite animal. Chickens are the first.

I'm really surprised the hen just sat there calmly and didn't start flipping out. I have one hen, who seems to have claimed the alpha status, and if she sees ANY animal get near the coop, she starts fluffing up and loudly belting out her "sound the alarm" cackles.

Not really scary. Other than losing an occasional egg, these guys are pretty beneficial. You don't want them around little ducklings as they will squeeze them and eat them whole. But once grown they don't bother the ducks and keep the rodents in check.

Yep, seen that too. Climbed straight up the side of my cedar house onto a deck that had no stairs to it on the second story!

Just recently read I think on predator an prey about a snake killing a chicken in her nest box and a member here had 3 pullets killed by snakes they couldn’t even eat. Crazy.
