Rat Snake under hen

Thats so stupid too they out to know by size they can’t eat them . I have Bantam chicks running around with their mamas right now I have no use for a snake in here. And I like snakes just don’t want them around right now.

Like this hen, my duck which is afraid of me just sat there on the snake on her nest. I thought it was the weirdest thing I had ever seen. A little disappointed to find its pretty common. I guess I could really freak you out by letting you know these snakes have the ability to climb a vertical wall.
In other words never leave an upstairs window open unless it has a screen!

My main problem with snakes is that i never know if the snake in front of me is poisonous or not. Ok, for some snakes i know for sure they're poisonous, almost stepped on a rattler once in Texas, but most of the small critters around here i simply don't know.
And for Blanca Duck everything's just a large worm. She caught a lizard this morning…

Alright would not want to run into one we have nothing here but garter snakes funniest weird we have three outside cats grew up with the chickens these cats will sleep in their nest boxes I have one there just for them no one put eggs in there but one day birds have a large outside run like 1/4 an acre I look out on my way in outside cat jumped in had a large vole layed there in the yard shared with the chickens :wee

Last time I was trying to relocate a black rat snake out of my yard, he zipped across my lawn and right up my cottonwood tree. They're fast! Made me glad I'm not afraid of snakes, because the sight of that little dude racing across the lawn at, approximately, a million miles an hour would've scared me to death otherwise.
