At our old house we had a bad rat problem in the chicken coop. It got so bad they actually ate one of the chickens. We got the big live ratinator trap, and caught 36 rats in one night! And then we just submerged it in the tub, dumped them all out, and reset it. It pretty much fixed our rat problem. We caught hundreds of rats in that thing.

What kind of poison did you use? I guess I could lock the cats up for a while and warn the neighbors not to let their dogs come up here.

If you really want to, get bait boxes and don't use poison, use a box of mashed potatoes that is instant. Don't add water and just put the dehydrated powder in the bait boxes. When they eat the powder, it mixes with the water in there gut and expands. That should kill them and if something eats the rat it won't harm them.

It worked great! We also took food out at night so they'd be forced to search, and used a hanging feeder during the day. And dad turned on a red light at night. Other than that the ratinator was amazing. It was insane how many were in it!

Yes, I loved that trap too! Only issue is finding out what to do with the live rats after they are caught, but that is the least of your problems.
