Rats

I'm really freaking out...there are rats living (breeding also probably) by my chix coop. I have put down bait... which they ignore... it's in those black plastic bait boxes by victor(?), I bought an electronic rat trap, and a plastic type of old fashioned Victor type trap and a regular rat trap by Victor. They all work except for the bait box type, but, after catching maybe 2 rats they ignore the traps even when I put cheese in them. I've heard that moth balls will discourage them when placed in their holes, also anti-acid tablets. Done both... still have them.... any ideas? PALEEZE. Can't have cats... 7 dogs that wouldn't like cats or chickens or squirrels or anything else with legs besides humans....actually have a 2.10oz dog that would make a good snack for rats.

I found the best thing that works for me is rat proof feeders

50/50 peanut butter and plaster of paris balls, a little olive oil if handy..

Marble sized.

Put out daily till they stop disappearing.
