Rav isn't playing when she talks about how tough these things are... After five days of tense hatching i have 2 hatchlings and a third who's absorbing his veins. Its been some kind of roller coaster.

Awwww! I love them. Yes, it's so true. You know it's going to be a hard hatch going into it but can't really grasp how nerve wracking it is until you do it!

I can't imagine how Cute a burd under a pillow must be. I mean, what can you Call something SO CUTE!?!

I have a house burd. And I absolutely love it! Wouldn't trade the experience for anything. I don't know how I will ever let her sleep outside!

I know! I'm terrible! Thanks to you Ravyn, I now know that my little boy duck is actually a little GIRL duck! I'm surrounded by boys 24/7...you have no idea how awesome it is to have a girl in the house!!

Yes, and I already have, lol... it's confusing because some duck colors have different names than the comparable colors in chickens... also, the US uses some different names than the UK...

'Silver' is the duck equivalent of 'Splash'... I have several...

Silver drake and blue bibbed drake... heavily overmarked blue, and large, but I love this pic...

I'm going to have my Silvers seperate though, so think I'll probably go with blues and blacks together...

Easier to keep them from building up than it is to get rid of them... how many ducks, what size are they, and how big is your pen? Is it flat, sloped, or mounded? Got pics? Be easier to figure out a solution with more info...

Awe, yay, RavynFallen and I love you for it. Thank you. It goes not unnoticed by me the time you put into your answers. I appreciate because as I cannot hold said burds due to no access, I must know. I truly have loads of affection for your puffs and the way you capture them either on a surface or your hand is wonderful.

Ok, envious that soft boy of burd that spilleth over yer hand is so warm and trusting. Just the innocence and sweetness in his eyes would move me to tears.

The day you can have ducks will be truly glorious!!

And yes, it is extremely amazing to have such complete and utter trust from such a sweet being... I had 2 climb up into my lap today all on their own... it was very sweet...

I didn't realize she was so light colored! She's gorgeous!!

I got a pretty pic of my expectant father-burb-duck Tiggy yesterday. He paces around all day, waiting for momma to hatch his babies.
He's probably 5 times the size of all of you guys' Call ducks

He thanked me for changing his pool water by climbing in before I was even done re-filling.

I didn't realize she was so light colored! She's gorgeous!! I got a pretty pic of my expectant father-burb-duck Tiggy yesterday. He paces around all day, waiting for momma to hatch his babies. He's probably 5 times the size of all of you guys' Call ducks He thanked me for changing his pool water by climbing in before I was even done re-filling.

Love Tiggy!! We won't hold his size against him... Poor guy looks like Cas when he was waiting for Lady Grey and Crash to hatch theirs, lol...

I've got more pics in my phone of the duck then I do my kids!! Lol. Are you serious about the silver?? I didn't think it was possible to feel more pressure to hatch these eggs! No, I'm joking...just even more excited!! And I wanted to tell you that Mavis has one single brown feather on her shoulder. I checked and it's literally just one little feather but it is soooo cute!

The eggs came from 3 greys and 2 silvers... the drake is *I think* tecnically a blue fawn pied... him over the silvers *should* produce 50/50 blues and silvers... but don't know what else he is carrying, thus my test batch which should be hatching this weekend, I believe...

Sorry for the brown feather, that's a new one... have gotten some fawn wash on some blues, but not that... mixed colors is unpredictable, that's why I'm working towards breeding to true colors...

Yep, they are much more interested in snuggling, lol... as she gets older she'll start finding some independence as she should...

Drakes can go either way about fatherhood... some are excellent partners, some have to be kept separated from mom and babies, and some are just indifferent... it's a crap shoot...
