I had the honor of eating the first three eggs my hens laid today. Boy were they yummy. I scrambled them up, added salt and pepper, and then down the hatch they went. When I first cracked open the eggs though, there seemed to be a stronger smell to the eggs than I have ever experienced before. It wasn't a bad smell, just strong and noticeable. The eggs tasted perfectly fine. The girls get fresh greens, a little scratch/oats daily and their regular feed. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced stronger smell to their freshly cracked eggs?

Ah, the blessing of fresh healthy eggs. That's a healthy smell!

Home raised eggs will have more flavor than store bought, which is a good thing. More flavor means a more noticeable smell. Smell and taste are closely linked.
