raw fish heads...

so one of our cats got hold of a decent sized fish head today and i just went outside to see that he'd taken it out the back and then been chased off it by one of the chickens. Vera (the chicken) was having a great old time with it, throwing it around and pulling bits off (unfortunately my fiancée had the camera at work so i couldn't take photos). would this be ok? i suddenly panicked she could get a bone caught in her throat or something and took it off her. any thoughts? she seemed to love it... horrid little dinosaur that she is I've heard fish can taint the taste of the eggs? not too worried about that though, funny tasting eggs is a small price to pay for the fun she was having haha

Mine pecked on raw fish heads before and seemed to be ok with it. I suppose their is a risk of a bone getting stuck the wrong way.

Don't worry about the taste with the eggs.. Many commercial feed mixes contain fish meal. You would have to feed very many fish to taint the taste.

As a treat I give my chickens fish, it is good for them and they love it. A few times I know I have given them to much, but never tasted the diffance in the flavor of the eggs.
