Rcom Suro King Incubator official thread ***HIGH ALERT***see post 93

Hello,
I own the suro 20. I have had this for a few years and until I got it I had a bad hatch rate for Serama's . Seramas are very difficult to hatch...having said that I chose the suro 20 as I had total control of all setting. So far I have had many hatchs. BUT now I need a new mositure waffer and new tubing. Was hoping that maybe you would have some idea where I could find these items.

Have any improvements been made in this incubator? Some of the posts were from 2010, so I wondered if there is a new model. I'm in the market for a new 'bator -- thought I was going to get a Dickey but they are too expensive for me.

While I am completely burned out on these, I am so glad that there are folks who like theirs and are having great hatches with them. I just wanted to alert everyone that IF you are having any issues and are thinking about returning them, it must be done before 6 months...not 1 year.

I always had to run mine at 100.3 to keep the eggs at a hatchable temp.

As a FYI...if you want to reset it to factory settings, unplug the bator and while holding the "-" button, plug it back in. You will see the readout change.

Will restoring it to the factory setting make it read accurately again?

hey just wondering how they can say they only have a 6 month warranty when the paper that comes with it says 2 year warranty if registered on their site or a 1 year warranty if not registered? shouldn't that hold up somehow? i am wondering too about contacting the credit card company....although ours was purchased in march of this year so it has defintely been over this new 6 month warranty period thing we are hearing about. what can the credit card company do at this point? anything at all? I've never had to deal with something like this before. i have a call into kemps right now and missed their call so i have to call them back.

I hope it works for you. Mine said the same thing and i registered it for the 2 yr warranty, it worked great for my first couple of hatches and then went really bad, they told me I was out of warranty at about 7 months. I believe using most credit cards to purchase doubles the warranty. Contact your credit card company and find out.

Oh, this is wicked.
I have a King Suro 20 egg incubator. Holds 24 eggs.
I find it great, I have only done 2 hatches with it. My first hatch didn't work out ( I got 0/8 quail eggs ) but my 2nd hatch was great ( 7/8 chicken eggs ).
I have just set another 10 Leghorn eggs and can't wait to see the results.

This time around i am having a bit of trouble with the humidity. Usually I just take the top off and it goes right down but that's not working this time. I quite humid here now.

Also, with the grey hatching pad. Does that go in the whole time or do you place it in there on day 18 when you go into shutdown???

oh wow, sorry me. I just realized how old this is...

bugger!

Hi cluckcluckluke

About the relative humidity, I think you should not take the top off (not for long I mean) since that will take the incubator room humidity to the external humidity (high in your case). If you leave it closed (with closed ventilation hole, too) the relative humidity will go down by itself, since you are increasing the temperature.
I have a black (not grey) foam pad which I always keep in.

Ok, thanks :).
Ye it was on about 52 Degs Cel. When I wanted it on 45 and now it's on 60. I shall stop playing with it and close the vent holes.
Thank heaps
