RE: "Exotic" mystery chick- any ideas to which breed this cutie might be?

Thank you so much for your replies! I appreciate your input very much angel8035, Luckyduck2, CCCCCCCCHICKENS. At this point of time this little chick is the same size as our RIR chicks, perhaps a tiny bit wider and fluffier. I'll post some more photos of him when he has some more feathers. Thanks again!

Thanks redrooster99. I believe I have to agree now that he is feathering in more.
I'm pretty sure "Timmy" is a roo- all our other roos pick on little guy and they hang around together. He's pretty shy and doesn't go much for cuddling and handling. He'll tolerate when I hold him and submit and lay down, but won't seek me out for attention like our RIR who will follow you around and hop on you or peck you until you pay them special attention. lol

There are so many photos of Partridge Cochins- does anyone have any shots of how he might look when he's grown?

This was a cockerel.

Ordered these two.
Both cockerels one was darker than the other.Took the pic. when I got them home.

heronz, I believe you are right- I think you have partridge cochin chicks- they look ALOT like this little guy, except for his comb hasn't begun turning red yet. Also, your chick's beak looks blacker than his. Is that a waddle "beard?" on your last photo?

Now angel8035, this is where I get really confused- heronz and I have reddish and black striped birds- will they stay quite striped, or, lose that stripe coloring and adopt more dramatic solid coloring over time? I am just unsure of where the coloring with striped chicks goes.

Here's a closer photo of his stripes- see how he's got them on his shoulders and back? His neck seems all black . He still has bare areas to feather in.

are you sure it's not a pullet? The partridge hen looks different from the roo. If it is a partridge cochin I'd say it's a pullet. I've had cochins but I've never had partridges before.
