Funny, the chick that hatched while the turner was still in is doing fine, put it in with 10, week old meat chicks, and today I moved 26 chicks and one turkey that hatched into the brooder, and the 1st chick that hatched is ONLY hanging out with the meat chicks, it thinks that's what it is...............
Openning the bator didn't stop the hatch, 26 more and one turkey........... 3 more turkey eggs are still inside, today was SUPPOSED to be hatch day and the turkey that did hatch, hatched on time........................I'll letcha know

Opening the incubator isn't to be recommended, but I have had the incubator open and shut a number of times with chicks that are stuck without obvious determent. If I have to hatch a chick, though, I usually do it on a paper towel soaked with warm water.
So......if you have to open, don't beat yourself up about it, shut the incubator as soon as you can and assume the rest will be OK,
Sandie
