Someone has offered to trade some straight run leiper/roundhead cross chicks for one of my BB Red roosters. I have chickens for fun and have only just started so I'm not familiar with the breeds. I tried to research them online but couldn't find much. Can anyone tell me what type of chicks these will be? Are they layers or meat birds?

Lieper and Roundhead are types of American Gamefowl, so this means they are a cross between the two types. Most likely wheaton or b.b. red in color. If you're b.b. red rooster is largefowl they may think its a gamecock also, if not then maybe they just want a lil bantam for their kid or to have around. Gamefowl can be eaten, they do lay eggs, are amazing for hatching eggs under, and are very hardy. If you take the chicks though be warned eventually you will have to set up individual housing for the young roosters so they don't destroy one another (don't worry, it shouldn't happen for quite a few months, at least 6 I'd say some take longer though). At that time you could always offer the guy to come over and pick them up though as he may want some to show or breed.

Thanks so much! My only concern is getting straight run instead of pullets only. I don't want anymore roosters as I have plenty. You've helped me tremendously as I'd never heard of either breed.
