On long threads are we supposed to go through each page. Some of these can, and regularly do, get way off topic. I started reading the whole squatch thread and just got to where I was skipping every post except for when the OP was chiming in.
I don't think peoples' feelings are so easily hurt by posts. I mean each of us choose to share our stories...
But in any case usually if the OP date is more than a couple days old, in the illness category, and there are a few responses, I just assume it's worked out - one way or another.

Well then thank ya. :hugs

Have you noticed the issue more prevalent lately too??

Absolutely. You know that I have a tendency to 'chat', but let's keep the chit/chat where it belongs and not intrude into someone else's thread. I made this comment in a thread recently and was deluged by the 'chatters'.

You don't think there's a problem with:
"my chicken is bleeding, what should I do? I'm so worried"
"do you like my red shoes or my blue shoes better? I'm having sausages for tea. Do you like sausages?"
"i like german sausages".
"Italian sausages are better"
"your red shoes are nicer. I bought pink shoes today".....

It is basic for replies to a forum thread to address the topic, on every forum.
Not if after all of that you will get
" wash the wounds disinfect it and put some antibiotic ointment, and watch her condition " which normally will come.

Here's how I see it... If I were to post "need advice on treating my chicken's open fracture", I sure don't want people to start chit chatting about anything. IMO, to do so would be disrespectful.

I agree, therefore I don't think it's occurring very often, I do believe that the vast majority of the people here are reasonable.

If in my hypothetical thread people want to discuss/debate *anything* related to the injury, I'd be okay with that.

Edited to add: even if it's pages and pages of debate, that's still okay with me.

I think what ACTUALLY happens is more like this:

My chickie has a boo boo, what should I do? Worried!
OK, clean it, patch it up, watch your chickie, etc..

Post 3, seeing that it has been answered in the best way possible, then might ramble off topic..... no one *directly* goes south and ignores the original posters thoughts or question.
