I had some more chicks hatch yesterday and they were doing great . But today i left for 2 hrs and came back to one chick laying on its back breathing heavily. Its body seemed really hot..so i moved the light up some and took the chick out. I got my fingers wet with cold water and put them under her wings and legs and slightly ran cold water over its feet to try and cool it off. I think it got too hot and had a heat stroke..and im serious..she finally cooled off enough that me rubbing her with wet cold fingers seemed to bother her..lol but for a few hours after she came to, she couldnt stand on her own and fell backwards when she tried. Were thinking maybe she has brain damage idk? Its now evening time and she can stand a little more on her own and walk even a little bit. If she did fall over or layed down the other chicks would tromp and stand on her...i ffelt bad even tho normaly i know thats not a bad thing but still i put her into her own little box wih heat so at least for tonight she can get some rest...has anyone else ever had this happen beforre?? Id really like to know if she has any hope.

I can't say that I've had that happen before. I would just keep an eye on her, continue to encourage her to eat and drink. Sounds like she's already showing signs of improvement. Unfortunately, only time will tell. Sending positive vibes your way:)

thank you very much...this morning she seems to be doing well but i will def. have to do the eye dropper of water with her cuz i dont think shes drinling...darnit
