Reading Auctions on Ebay

I have come to hate eBay as a seller. So sick of ignorant people and eBay allowing the buyer to do whatever they want and never protecting the seller, even when they are in the right.

That's true Cindy!
I have 1 negative , placed 40 + days after the egg sale was finalised.
They didnt hatch, HE CLAIMS, I refunded 1/3 of his money, he cursed me for all I was worth in the next e-mail, told me if I didnt want the nastiest negative feedback ever, then I had best give him a full refund. NOW, where I come from, that's called black male right? A clear violation of eBay rules, FEEDBACK EXTORTION is what they call it.
Anyway, I told him I was sorry, but he read the auction and I assumed 1/3 refund was more than just on my end, but after the fowl language he used, to no longer contact me, we he did, over and over, finally had to block him .
Got a paypal claim then, they obviously sided with me..
Got a negative feedback though....so....
I sent ALL of our corespondence e-mails to eBay under their Feedback Extortion Section.
They siad, they were sorry, but, a perosn's feedback is there's to give, and to them, no extortion had taken place????
Can you believe that? tHE USE OF HIS TERMS, "if you dont, i will"

O well, live and let live, but you are spot on, eBay will not help sellers especially on egg auctions, but they'll gladly take all your listing and final value fees wont they!

Yes, it's rotten.

I made a decent income from eBay for 10 years, certainly paid plenty of fees, but when they made the new rules on feedback which clearly showed that the seller was no longer important, we said a great big good-bye to eBay! Not worth my time and hassle to sell there when some ignorant moron can decide the sky isn't quite the color blue they would like to see today so they go off on you, leave fb and you cannot do a darn thing about it. *sigh*

Yep, It's a shame, they are ruining a good thing , for both we sellers and them. I would love to know what they get in an average year just off hatching egg auctions along, probley blow your mind, yet we get no protection,
Oh well, I guess I'll keep selling, till it gets too unbareable, but would prefer to just sell all our stuff off BYC from now on.
Atleast folks on here understand how this works!

ouchhhhhhhh.. I'm going to be a little critical of your add *sorry*

but you wanted opinions so I'm going to give it.

First off - its TOO LARGE for font - and wayyy too long. Thats why people arent reading it. If I pulled it up, even though I liked what you were selling - I'd pass on it because I just dont have the time or inclination to read alllllllllllllllllll that stuff in that large of text.

Here is an old copy of what I used - still alot of info but formatted in a different way - play with colors and fonts, it makes a HUGE difference:

•I do combine on shipping of my items. Please WAIT to get an invoice from me before you pay for an item if you win multiple items so I can be sure shipping is combined and you get a discount *•

THE FINE PRINT:

** All sales are final **

Please ask all questions prior to placing your bid, thank you. Insurance is highly recommended

**Seller not responsible for lost or damaged items if insurance is not purchased.**

OVERSEAS BIDDERS:

PAYMENT MUST BE MADE VIA PAYPAL ONLY - NO EXCEPTIONS!
Please contact me prior to bidding if you are unsure of the cost to ship to your area. I will gladly ship overseas however shipping is much higher to your area so please be aware of all costs associated and ensure you ask all questions prior to bidding. I do report all proper customs forms and you may / will be responsible for duty taxes on items bid once item comes into your country.
Thank you.

PAYMENT:

PAYPAL IS MY PREFERRED METHOD OF PAYMENT
Payment is expected within 5 days of auction closing - no exceptions.

Payment methods:

Paypal, Money Order, Cashiers Checks. NO PERSONAL OR BUSINESS CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

*** Negative feedback for more than 2 non-payment of items or excessive negative ratings will result in immediate cancellation of your bid by seller. I do leave negative feedback and report all appropriate forms to eBay. Seller reserves the right to cancel any bids for those that have negative feedback for non-payment at any time or for non-compliance with auction rules. ***

I haven't read your ad but I can agree with Urban Coyote and HennysMom.

Keep it simple, don't use all sorts of wild colors for the print or all capital letters. Make paragraphs. Run a spell check if you are unsure how to spell a word. And read the whole ad over slowly, a couple of times, before you post it to catch any of your mistakes.

I used to work with technical writers and they would sometimes read their work outloud to each other to make sure it made sense to another person.

If an ad makes my eyes glaze over within the first 20 seconds, I move on to another seller.
