wow Wright I sure hope #10 hatches
have 3 hatched so far and 3 more pips all from the "white" carton. I believe im going to have to cull one of the chicks she/he has a under developed wing and can't stay upright.

That's too bad about the underdeveloped one. Did she hatch on her own? I hope if/when I ever have that happen that I'll have the strength to do the right thing, if that means culling. Would the wing continue to develop after hatch? I hope the rest hatch healthy. Still wondering about the "pullet" in the carrier...

thank you, she gets her stitches out tomorrow so hoping she'll be a bit less cranky! Chicks are all doing fine, just can't build pens fast enough!

Lockdown at @pm friday for me too. Its going SOOOO slow! When do we typically start seeing internal pipping? And how do you see it if your incubator is in lockdown?

UGH. Time is standing still. Got till friday at 2pm for lockdown.

ALSO! I have a Pumpkin Hulsey pair coming. I'm eggsited!! The guy I got a couple from ended up calling the hubby and saying he'd sell the pair for $300!!! Yay!!!! Their eggs for a dzn normally go for $88. Can't wait!!! I feel like a kid again!!!

When you start hearing peeping through the eggshells that means they're breathing air within the air cell and will hatch soon. I have a window in mine, nothing to see until they start to break the outer shell - unless you're lucky enough to see the egg wiggling. Mine are upright in cartons so won't be much movement. You'll hear them through the incubator though!

I think I marked my calendar wrong. When is lockdown? I had mine starting on Saturday!

If you set yours on Saturday the 16th then they should hatch on approx Saturday the 6th. Your lockdown would be - uh oh, stop turning and crank up your humidity I thought you set yours the 17th same as me. I lock down tonight.

I locked down a day early! I was counting the 17th as day 1. Oops! Hope that doesn't screw anything up.
